As a crucial part of the Australian Government, Defence Digital Group (DDG) shapes, delivers and sustains an integrated and scalable ICT environment, the Single Information Environment, to enable Defence able to fight and win in the digital age.

However, The DDG’s project management tool was end-of-life, resulting in:

  • Inefficient project management workflows
  • Limited portfolio visibility and strategic alignment
  • Security and compliance challenges
  • A lack of modern risk management capabilities

Additionally, the DDG needed to modernise project and portfolio management, improve strategic planning, risk governance, and enhance decision-making.To ensure a seamless transition, Defence required a pilot implementation of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) to validate its effectiveness before a full-scale rollout.

Our Solution

Novabridge deployed a specialist team of project management and ServiceNow experts to design, implement, and validate the SPM pilot within 12 weeks. Key milestones included:

  • User Engagement & Pilot Execution – Conducted hands-on workshops to align the platform with Defence’s operational needs.
  • Security Accreditation – Ensured compliance with Defence security protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Change Management & Training – Delivered structured training to enable Defence personnel to adopt and maximise the platform’s capabilities.
  • Production Readiness & Deployment – Successfully transitioned eP3M into production in December 2023.

By 2024, the eP3M solution was successfully expanded across additional Defence projects, delivering:
